Hi zoners, I was wondering how do I downloas=d mp3 files to my mac from
sites like Applevis and blind mice mart? thanks in advance for all the help.
you would click on the links provided normally. but the download window does not show itself like it does inm IE. you need to stop interacting with your HTML window, go up to the tule bar and interact with that, then click on the downloads button. also, you can enter your side bar in the finder and navigtate to your downloads folder
Adding to this, in the case of Applevis, due to the link not forcing a download
this will open the file in a window instead with playback controls. If Safari
supports the file format, Safari will open the file instead of downloading it if the
link itself doesn't force a download. To make Safari download the file when this
happens, you can press Option-Return when the link has keyboard focus or
choose the appropriate option from its contextual menu. This isn't required all
the time. It all depends on whether the site forces a download or not.
IF you click a file link and nothing happens, press CMD-Option-L to bring up the
Downloads popover. That's simpler than going to the toolbar.
Hey, that's some pretty nice instructions right there. Thank you.
Thanks for the great instructions. I will have to go try this. When I download
this file, will it show up in my downloads folder, or somewhere else? Another
question, how do I go to the next or previous visited or unvisited link in Safari?
With QuickNav on:
v = visited link, l = unvisited link.
Ok thanks
So with Voiceover on, do the following for help:
Press VO+H and select the kind of help you want, or pres VO H twice quickly to get a menu of command categories.
You can then execute commands that aren't even on keys.
You can then go into Voiceover Utility VO+f8 and set up stuff, I've done that to my number pad which makes buzzing around a lot quicker.
It's either VO H or VO Shift H, I can't remember. Who remembers all the keys anyhow? Except the ones you use all the time. That menu is really useful, and as I said it will let you execute a command right from itself. And you can explore and see what's there. I discovered it quite by accident and have become quite used to its presence ever since.
Cool I will try that.
